Lady Freeriders Go First.
Baby, it’s Cold Outside.
pop quiz: the lyric above is from what song and artist? clue: lots of cover versions, this one is a Welsh duet.
The Lady Freeriders World Tour, Fieberbrunn; 31st January.
Bit disappointed that the lady freeriders were the only ones to compete on Saturday, hopefully the other competitions will be re-scheduled for later in the week; it is currently very, very cold and snowing which has got to be a good sign.
I’m off for an off-piste lesson in the morning, but think I’m a bit too old and a lot too rubbish to aspire to taking part in the FWT15 Tour!
Fieberbrunn is part of the Kitzbuhler Alpen Ski region in Austria.
The Kitzbühel Alps have a great combination of good snow conditions, with lots and lots of snow making equipment, and gorgeous and authentic mountain villages.
Kitzbuhel itself usually tries to be among the first ski resorts to open for the ski season and every year hosts the World Cup Downhill competition on the famous Hahnenkamm piste.
Skiers and snowboarders have access to 1,000km of pistes. Pistes are a good mixture of blue, red and black to suit all abilities of skier. Mountain restaurants are plentiful and offer good fayre at reasonable prices. The Kitzbuhel Alps are also renowned for their Apres-Ski with traditional Austrian oompah bands and plenty of Jagertee.
Not only does Fieberbrunn host the Freeride World Tour each year, but the area is a mecca for freeride skiers for the whole ski season.
