LooKING at Life; Skiing and other FunKING TINGS
After record breaking snowfall in our part of Austria and the magnificent job of the piste-teams to make the mountains safe, those off-piste activities can now begin. With shovel, probe, extra clothes, food, drink, camera and other essential back-country skiing kit packed, we ventured out. He’s the Thule Upslope Review update.
We opted for a Thule roof rack with Snowpack L ski carrier (L = Long = 75cm). We opted for the long version as we have quite fat skis and occasionally have friends join us so need to carry more than two pairs of skis.
As we venture further and further away from the piste, we have acquired a Thule 25l Upslope ski rucksack. We’ve not had this pack very long and it hasn’t really been tested ‘in the field’ yet. We’ve been skiing at the Hintertux and Snowshoeing at Penken, so thought we’d share our initial impressions with you.
The pair of new ski socks Andrew has bought are something else! The packaging lists fibres I’ve never heard of; what is ‘Robur’?
Popped over to Castleford to put few new ski options through ski testing. Ellis Brigham had got several ski reps to bring lots of skis.
