Ski Boots, time to buy new ones

Good to be in Your Shoes.

pop quiz: the lyric above is from what song and artist? clue: well it would have been good in the 80s.

The time has finally arrived to replace my aging pair of Head ski boots. They have served me well over the years. So, here’s why they need to go

  • During the last ski season the fit seemed to be getting looser.
  • My level of skiing has greatly improved since I brought them.
  • Breaking a metatarsal (finger like bone) on my left foot, in a freaky kitchen based tea making incident. This ended last year’s skiing in Zell am See a little prematurely.
  • Technology in the best ski boots has moved on.

I have always been of the opinion that I need to ski better, not just buy better equipment and hope to get results. That said, if having the best ski gear is going to make my life easier then I am all for it.

If more comfort, better control and less effort; not that I am lazy (I would say that, wouldn’t I?!), but less effort for the same results, means being able to ski better for longer, harder and faster, then why wouldn’t you?  Most things are more fun when you are not tired – apart from sleeping.

Anyway, now I have justified the expense of new and better ski boots, it’s time to start the research.

pop trivia: in 1984 Nik Kershaw was asking ‘Wouldn’t it be Good?‘. This was his first hit single and the track he sang at ‘Live Aid’ in 1985.
